Gave this a shot. I should try it again with egg whites, as the aquafaba gave it an odd aftertaste.
Proof this is the bad timeline: Paula Shore is the only surviving person in this group.
True, I had to use that with another instruction when I tried to boot a usb with Ubuntu on it and it worked.

I have a 5080 and it worked well with some issues:

Finding a distro that would boot from USB was a headache. Bazzite and Mint wouldn’t load, but Fedora did. HDR worked in videos, but not in games. I didn’t experience any performance issues with GPU heavy games, though I had to fudge around with Proton versions to get Armored Core 6 to work.

Valve Index worked with beat saber, but I could not mirror the VR to my TV using steam link. The index had poor frame rates for playing non-VR games in theatre mode.

OpenRGB still doesn’t have support to change the RGB on my card (Gigabyte Aorus).

Pissed that I had to reinstall Windows because Linux’s usability with my Valve Index isn’t quite where it needs to be. Was quite happy on Fedora before I attempted to run VR stuff again.
I’m planning to stop using Tidal. I get too many errors when playing.
I use Fedora. It fucks up less than Win11, so I’m sticking with it.

My experience migrating to Linux started off rough. Fedora wasn’t even on my top 3 distro to try (Bazzite, Mint, Ubuntu), but when you’re running Frankenstein hardware with Nvidia graphics, your distro is gonna be the first one that actually boots from a USB drive.

Very happy with it. It’s actually easier to find solutions to most of my issues than it was with Windows 11. I thought I’d miss HDR in gaming more, but not really noticing much of a difference.

If it wasn’t for Linux, I never would have learned about the Heroic launcher, which lets me run games I got from Epic Game store and GOG without downloading those.

Hoping OpenRGB eventually supports my graphics card and HDR gets better implementation for games.

Played this a few years ago. Highly recommend. It got updated with ray tracing awhile back too.

AI can't even find a deal on vegetable oil - sh.itjust.works

Seriously, fuck AI. With all the search engines shoving AI suggestions, I tried to give them a task that should be easy: Find me a deal on vegetable oil in my city. Flyers are readily available online, so I figured they’d be able to pull this off. I got a non-specific bullshit answer that was somehow both inaccurate AND useless.
