Behind the scenes of our new family tree model! Two days of work listening to Turisas, inspired by a desire for a medieval-renaissance style tree.
We started by taking references, photos of elaphe deer, 16th-century cabbage leaves and aristoloches, 17th-century pea-shell rinceaux and a gold background inspired by illuminations.
Then it's on to the rough draft, a hideous blob of potential, where we're very hesitant about the composition, add a background based on 16th-century German ornaments, use Gothic script (Dieter Steffmann's Gutenberg Textura is perfect) and BOUM!

On commence par prendre des références, des photos de cerf élaphe, des feuilles-de-chou et aristoloches XVIe, des rinceaux cosse-de-pois XVIIe, un fond d'or inspiré des enluminures.
Puis on passe au brouillon, une immonde chose informe pleine de potentiel, on hésite beaucoup sur la composition, on rajoute un fond basé sur des ornements allemands du XVIe siècle, on prend une écriture gothique (la Gutenberg Textura de Dieter Steffmann est parfaite) et BOUM !
