Civil Liberties Defense Center supports movements that seek to dismantle the political and economic structures at the root of social inequality and environmental destruction. We provide litigation, education, legal and strategic resources to strengthen and embolden their success.
Our movement memory goes back over 23 years, and just like a raven, we remember who stood beside us, and we remember the government agencies and individuals who did not.
We know that liberation is not something that is given. It is fought for – generation over generation – and that takes inter-generational wisdom, coordination, trust, and a willingness to fly together, even when the sky grows dark.
