Beer in Art #1876

St. Patrick, by Jean-Baptiste Monge, 2013 (Canada)

Today's Bock oddity is this March 17, 1972 Baltimore Sun ad for National Bohemian Bock that's more of a history lesson, called "You can't tell the goat by his tale."
I'm realizing that I love seeking out the oddest travel destinations and these days I never go anywhere without first checking Atlas Obscura. That's how I discovered Bamahenge, for example. In Atlanta last week, I managed to see "54 Columns," a public art installation by Sol LeWitt, a pioneer in both minimal and conceptual art. The work consists of 54 concrete columns ranging in height from 10 to 20 feet and arranged in a triangular layout, 112 x 176 feet. It was installed in 1999 and opened in 2000, then renovated two years ago after local residents complained about it from the very beginning. Why, I have no idea? It was awesome in its weirdness. The point? A riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma, just like I like them.
