Amid a ‘Tripledemic,’ It’s Time to Mask Up Again, Experts Say

A high-quality, well-fitting mask is your best protection against infection from the coronavirus, influenza and R.S.V.

If you know me, say hi.

Wanna see who's here. 🎅

With each new surge of Mastodon users, I feel the need to point out:

1. Welcome!

2. There is a learning curve here, but most people find it short and not very steep. Play around, explore. You'll get it.

3. Lots of people are willing to help.

4. Yes, it's different than Twitter. Sometimes in good ways, sometimes not. But you'll figure it out.

5. With surges especially, things sometimes get slow/glitchy, but they usually get fixed pretty quick.

Be patient.

I think I'm the only person in New York who took Jacob deGrom signing with Texas with a shrug.

It would have been great if they signed him. Yet it's great that he walked away.

Seriously.

I have a thick skin. I’m not unaccustomed to attacks. And I surely don’t mind reasonable people raising opposing views. But the bird app has been swamped with MAGA Republicans determined to drive away progressives with false narratives and ad hominem attack. A dispiriting display of the human condition and a waste of time. Alas.

I'm posting this in tne scant hope some of my old pals see it.
