I don't know what is the recipe of success, but I do know that if you want to fail in learning something, keep jumping from one thing to another without completing any task.
@wintertown let me guess, they speak another language natively too. Otherwise they won't be able to get a proper access to education, services..etc.
I can never get why would someone learn Esperanto. It's useless. No one speaks it as their first language, and those who speak it, learn it mostly using English sources which defeats the purpose of learning the language in the first place.
