"TST" isn't making any sense to me here (with a quick google and check of Wikipedia): I take it to have something to do with colonization but would you mind posting clarification or linking to something if you have time?

I take my spouse to aquatherapy. While we're there she'll ask me about some new #AfricanHistory story that I've picked up in my studies. Today, I told her about the work of an #ArtHistorian who discussed the 12thC trade link between West Africa and France. A random woman in the pool started asking curious questions, so I told her my personal interest is in learning more about international diplomatic relations that Medieval Africans had with European and Asian countries. But @bramus has now created a neat Chrome extension (or bookmarklet, if you prefer to go that route) that let's you avoid all that hassle.

Yes, thank you, I appreciated the note as to your context. Japan in that period is fascinating and I know too little of it. Getting different perspectives on this terminology is quite interesting.
