I make generators on Perchance.org and do a bunch of other cool things.

I've made an update to the Advanced Comments Plugin!

If you had to redo your self hosting setup, what would you do differently this time around? - sh.itjust.works

Here are some notable quality changes and fixes I’ve made: - Replies are now half-supported! (although you still can’t reply from this plugin demo, try going to another generator like ai-chat) - Added a new dark mode for the generator page :) (from this template [https://perchance.org/dark-mode]) - There should no longer a super loud notification sound when moving around chat rooms - The formatting buttons have been simplified; you can click on the “More” button to show more formatting option - Added rounded corners into the message bubbles - The lower input area (the comments plugin built-in one) is now hidden by default - Redesigned user profile details - The comments can now have avatars (profile pictures); if a user don’t have avatars assigned, they’ll be assigned a default profile picture color and the first letter for them - Comments from users without nicknames now have italic usernames to distinguish them from nicknamed users’ comments - Comments can now fold in (with a “Show more” button below) when the content is too tall to show - Users with a blue username set but no nickname will now be shown its blue username on the main username text instead of the auto-generated one - Custom emojis now enlarge when inserted as the only emoji in the comment (no additional lines) - And a lot of minor improvements Any feedback is appreciated! PS: I haven’t been on Perchance for ages now. Just randomly opened this project and felt the need to improve some things. The Imaginanteous Scarvian Landscape - sh.itjust.works

Been playing a bit with VioneT’s Multiple Style Tester image generator [https://perchance.org/multiple-style-tester], and one of these images turned out cool enough that I decided to post it here. And did you know: this image was generated using the “Furry - Painted” style. Here are some other images that were generated using the same prompt and settings in different styles: ::: spoiler Table | Style | Generated Image | Style | Generated Image | | — | — | — | — | | Painted Anime | [https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/5dd3e7ab-76a3-4506-a7b4-05929350d3d6.jpeg] | Casual Photo | [https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/c78339fd-d60a-4bb1-bc25-d4246e83f2b5.png] | | Cinematic | [https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/908b65d3-8b54-4c75-b661-47c4b5e3cc00.jpeg] | Digital Painting | [https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/02bd3bd8-edab-486b-a356-dd6442f1b031.png] | | Painterly | [https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/97c6ac21-9bed-4d6f-a39c-2b7b8dca2727.png] | Professional Photo | [https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/4e14db59-57b1-484b-b61f-863f4d57ef6e.png] | | Anime | [https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/971f819a-d8f4-437f-a096-fed74af7ab69.png] | Game Art Icon | [https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/f0b4f987-e792-4b12-b6c8-de6abf69929b.png] | ::: ::: spoiler Settings Prompt: light rays bursting and exploding from different heights in a majestic mountaneous midnight landscape, 4k Negative Prompts: None Guidance Scale: 24 Resolution: 768x512 :::

[Generator Manager] 1.0k away from 40.0k

[Generator Manager] 1.0k away from 40.0k - sh.itjust.works

Just made another Mastodon post about the approaching 40.0k milestone on my generator hub page, just posting here on Lemmy for better reach. Here’s what I’ve also wrote out on the Perchance Discord Server: > We’ve done 10.0k back in January, 20.0k in May, 30.0k in August, and now, 40.0k?? > > Hopefully I could plan something for the big 40.0k special (and also especially this one [https://lemmy.world/post/21921523]), while still being able to keep up with my other hobbies and business to go through the end of the year (also get ready for some off-Perchance stuff soon!)

Turns out this also happens in one of my oldest generators, Power Hangman, and not just in the Generator Manager. Someone in the comments of there reported this quite recently, so I just fixed that generator to use the var i solution instead of let i. I should probably create a post on the Perchance community about this so everyone can have a catch on this error.

In short, multiple let declarations on the script tag in the HTML would now cause an error in the generator. I haven’t encountered these errors before, so if you happen to experience that same error as well, let me know!

Custom-built `onloop` event

Custom-built `onloop` event - sh.itjust.works

I’ve just been working on developing a way to fire a JavaScript event on a video element whenever the video loops back to the start (or the user plays the video back after it has ended) for one of my projects. I’ve been searching for ways to do it online but none of them worked for me, so I decided to invent my own solution. It took many hours to make until it works well enough for me, as JavaScript naturally doesn’t have its own onloop event handler. Might not necessarily related to Perchance, just wanted to share something unusual. Here’s a simple demonstration: https://perchance.org/custom-onloop-event-demo#edit [https://perchance.org/custom-onloop-event-demo#edit] What are your thoughts about this?

[Perun] Theories of Victory & Russian Political Stability - Interviewing Anders Puck Nielsen - sh.itjust.works

Description: — Usually on my channel we focus on questions of defence economics - elements like national resources, production, stockpiles and logistics that feed into the ability of a nation to carry on a war. But I also try to always flag the importance of political and social elements as well - the ways in which politics and the will to fight can complicate what would otherwise be a largely mathematical exercise. While those factors are important however, Russian politics is not my area of academic or professional focus. Today I’m releasing an interview recorded with Danish military analyst Anders Puck Nielsen at the Royal Danish Defence College. Anders has long had a focus on Russia and the Russian military, and so I was keen to get his thoughts on Russia’s political and social divisions of power, attitudes towards the war, and how these might factor into Ukraine’s theory of potential victory. All thoughts expressed are obviously his own personal ones (though all slide content was produced by me.) I hope you enjoy this deviation from the usual format, but you’ll be back to hearing more of me next week.

Thoughts about the upcoming new comeback plan

Thoughts about the upcoming new comeback plan - sh.itjust.works

Just spent my good time writing about this, but I wanted to tell some great news: Yes, I’m planning to come back to Perchance after the devastating incident [https://lemmy.world/post/18012834] that happened to me nearly 4 months ago. And I wanted to tell a bit about my recent plans to commemorate my official comeback into the community. I’ve been wanting to do this since last month, and I’m finally getting on my track to it. This will going to be another small event, but not nearly as big as this one [https://perchance.org/the-new-power], there I’m pretty much only going to share a few neat plans and projections to do as a kick starter before going back to the plans that are originally created and in the progress of realizing before the incident. Here’s a bit of a hint: I’ll going to be posting smaller and less serious packs of generators, plugins, templates, other projects, and updates to some of these existing projects, and I’ve came up with some good ideas of them earlier this month. I’ll also going to revisit and update some of the more recently updated stuff back in the days (e.g., Complete the Number Blocktrains [https://perchance.org/complete-the-number-blocktrains], Chat in the Smartwatch [https://perchance.org/chat-in-the-smartwatch], the advanced comments plugin project [https://perchance.org/advanced-comments-plugin-teaser], etc.) that was last edited months ago now. This will going to be in a slower, flexible pace, meaning only a few generator updates per week to balance with IRL stuff and other hobbies. I’ll still be exploring around and engaging on a few generators in Perchance whenever I want to! I might also sometimes very excited for a day and explore Perchance until I decide otherwise. The older plans will stay in its track, so just get ready for the new teaser whenever I’m ready to plan out for the big Generator Manager 2.0.20.1 update again! I’ve now felt more recovered than I was when the incident happened, and I’d be feeling great to be able to take advantage again of building great generators and other amazing stuff on this community (and beyond) and get back to what I’ve been going before. I’ve also been adapted to the new Perchance changes that were made at the time I took a break such as the recent menu bar revamp on the entire Perchance UI (I even got an accidental tab-styled version of it and I somehow like it more because it has more hitbox and therefore more convenient to click around, and it’s just really nice to look at). Also, to wrap off, I’ll be doing a “soft-comeback” (gradually doing generator updates and engaging on generators more regularly) for a few weeks from now until I’m finally considering releasing this long-planned new comeback event, and before eventually going back to the plan of getting the long-awaited Generator Manager update up to the actual release. ✨ Of course, there’ll be a lot more to plan in the future, but this is just an outlier for now. That’s all I have to say, I’ll be back here real soon! 🚀 [https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/d4a4f8fa-da07-4e53-b2c7-f09829ca4773.png]
