Music, running and politics - I know, predictable
#runningpunk #NCFC
MusicAll of it (mostly), but predominantly a metalhead
PoliticsLeft of centre
RunningRegularly, for health and fitness
Osees 'Panther Rotate' 2020
I've neglected my Dwyer back catalogue for too long. Time to reacquaint with one of the more obscure releases. A kind of remix, offcuts album, off the back of 'Protean Threat'

Fontaines D.C. 'Skinty Fia' 2022
I haven't played this in a while, and it's better for it.
I was underwhelmed when released, but it's certainly an improved listen.
The Stranglers 'Walk On By' 1978
The filthiest of bass lines.
This record is a firm constant in my all time favourite tracks.
33⅓rpm 7" single
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead 'Source Tags & Codes' 2002
There's simply not enough appreciation out there for this band.
Remarkable songwriting and a unique sound...
One of the best bands names too.
Zappa 'The Man From Utopia' 1983
There's some really good tracks on here, and some difficult, not so good tracks... which pretty much sums up most of his post '78 output.
Some of the Steve Vai's "impossible guitar parts" are extraordinary.
Listen to: 'The Radio Is Broken'
The Dillinger Escape Plan
'Calculating Infinity' 1999
Extreme mathcore: intense, abrasive and aggressive in the delivery, yet clever and full of multi-layered brilliance.
An acquired taste, which once landed, is a revelation.
2023 reissue on clear orange - it's a thing of beauty.
The Fall 'The Frenz Experiment' 1988
Quite an iconic line-up.
Enter Shikari 'Common Dreads' 2009.
Heavy synths and heavy guitars, with a polically charged lyric sheet.
It's a powerful record, albeit of an age and appealing to the youthful Millenials of the time...
Ty Segall 'Three Bells' 2024
This is superb...
In what I would describe as a move away from the psych, garage rock sound that Segall is more well known for, this is a really complex, layered and well-produced double album.
Listen to 'Void' - very proggy
Slift 'Ilion'
My first 2024 release purchase, is a monstrous eight track slab of French, heavy, stoner, psyche rock.
Marvellous stuff...
On red marbled vinyl.
