Expand Beta? - Lemmy.world

When I tap the link to get the app on the GitHub page [https://github.com/gkasdorf/memmy], TestFlight opens, but says the Beta program is full. Is there a plan to expand the beta?

Hey - I’m happy to help mod. I’m also modding a couple of other sub replacements :)

Btw, you can promote people to mods by clicking the 3 dots under their comment & clicking to appoint (I think that’s the word they use) as a mod. I had to learn that myself lol

Mlem for iOS crashes like every 30 seconds for me :( I’ve had to stick to the browser :(
Yes, when I tap the notification icon (bell), a new page loads with a list of the notifications (the top notification just now was your comment, complete with options to up/down vote, reply, etc.), but it only included your comment, not the comment you replied to (the context). And I can’t find a way from there to load just the active thread of comments, only links to load the post, your profile, etc. :(

I’m using the browser interface mostly. There are still some issues, though. Like, I got the notification of your comment & the only way I can find to view it in the context of the other comments is to tap on the post name (going to the main post), then scrolling down to find my own comment & your reply. Manageable now, but certainly not manageable if/when Lemmy gets more popular :(.

It would be great to be able to select the notification to take me to the post page, highlighting the comment from the notification, and only loading the thread that comment is in (basically what happened when I tapped on the notification in the Apollo App).

Ahh, you’re on android I’m guessing? I’m iOS :( looks like Mlem is the only option rn, and it’s young & buggy :( but still using it! :) and I’m def sticking with Lemmy!
Yeah, I was going to say, anyone who’s creating polls on Reddit rn doesn’t know much about how to sample & avoid bias…
What app are you using for Lemmy?
It’s [email protected]. I think that’s how you link it?

It looks like there’s already an issue open on GitHub (though I’m no expert, so correct me if this isn’t an enhancement request)

That’s a good idea about using a 3rd party site! I’ve never heard of pastebin, but I’ll look it up now :) Thanks!!

Context: LemmyNet/lemmy#2546 50k characters seems a reasonable increase from the current 10k.
