Telemetry!?!? Tracking everything a user does, to improve the product/application, at the cost or expense of the user's privacy. @MTomic Correct. A British company called Piriform, is a sub to the parent of Avast. This is interesting, as it right around the time the Russian Spy, had an attempt on his life in Brittan, and the post is written by a Russian software firm.. However, threatpost has been reliable source of information, so I don't have any reason to doubt it.

As investigations continue about the backdoor that was planted in CCleaner, Avast said it has found that the actors behind the attack were planning to install a third round of malware on compromised computers.
Therefore, it might just be possible to recover the lost data, and merge it with the new accounts being created here.
So, I can see my user still exists within the decentralized federation after Mastodon.rocks had the data loss. I think this is possible, because I had an account on another server which served a purpose to follow my main account.
