Set amidst the serene natural beauty of the Belgian Ardennes, Asharum Amonines is a dedicated Nâm Meditation Retreat Centre. Rooted in openness, silence, and simplicity, it offers a space to unwind, reflect, and reconnect — with yourself, with nature, and with a deeper sense of purpose.

Why does awareness around this matter so much?
And do you actually have an idea of the purpose of your life?

For example:
If there is a restlessness...do I sit with that? Or do I look for a distraction? Pick up my phone to see for impulses, look up somebody to chat with, watch video's on social media?
If I have an appetite, can I leave it for a moment for in another hour it is dinner time? Or do I look for that cookie to directly still this 'need'?
Until these responses become so habitual that you are not anymore aware of a discomfort you are trying to hide.
Sometimes I ask myself; am I giving my life purpose priority? Or am I mostly living my habitual life? This is not an easy question, and you need to be honest with yourself. Knowing how a big part of this habitual life is unconscious.
A key question can then be: how much do I follow what is comfortable above what is uncomfortable?
Many people find meditation difficult. While the practice is super simple...just sit down and do nothing for a moment...
So isn't it odd we find that difficult? Isn't it odd we get restless at the moment we rest? Isn't it odd our minds start running as soon as distractions are taken away? Join us in the next event and find out how to deal with this. Because once you found out how meditation can be your way to re-connect you will want more of that!

For me my life purpose is to live as authentic as I can. For that I need to leave behind expectations from myself and others, disturbing habitual programmes that enslave me and transforming my life in such a way that life can live through me.
A way of living that made me discover more and more that when I take care of life, life takes care of me!

When I asked the participants after the event
"What are you taking home with you" I was rather surprised about some of the remarks, being rather powerful:

"I am open to acknowledge there is an unknowable, greater essence and I am willing to try and connect to this essence"
