Fighting game enthusiast. I compete, commentate, and sometimes organize.

I also love my cats and I appreciate walkable cities.

Just played the inaugural game of #sf4e rollback over the public internet. Some audio and visual glitches, but no desyncs as far as I can tell. I'm very tired and have a bunch of release engineering to do and a cat to attend to, but my brother's _immediate_ response within 10 seconds of the game ending:

"gimme another"

I think it works.

#streetfighter4 #ultrastreetfighter4 #sf4 #usf4

Unlikely but I hope they reconsider Sunday finals ordering based strictly on entrants so we can have Marvel second-to-last. I'm biased tho cuz I don't really fuck with Strive and am so bored of Tekken 7.
A long-overdue announcement: The codebase for (most of) my event-organizing tools is now on a public github repository. This includes the player schedule optimizer and the bracket pdf creator, as well as some other things

https://github.com/margotphoenix/curly-brackets

Getting this code onto a public repo has been on my to-do list for years. Finally decided to just do it today or it'd never get done.

My code is still pretty rough & inconsistent. I also don't know how useful it is for most people at the moment. That said, I'm happy it's finally out in the world, and hopefully some out there are willing to pitch in to help improve it.

I'm more than open to anybody who wants to collaborate on it with a pull request. Also happy to answer any questions about it. Hope you check it out if you're interested
GitHub - margotphoenix/curly-brackets: Repo for (almost) all my event-organizing tools, including the player scheduler and the bracket pdf creator. Not quite usable by other ppl yet, but happy to get help building it all out.

The one thing I'm going to resent the most during the fracturing and diaspora of Twitter is that it becomes so much harder to find out news about community members

I almost didn't log into Twitter today due to rate limits and would've missed seeing the announcement of PianoDensetsu's passing away. Rest in peace, buddy.

GFM is still up to help pay for funeral and medical expenses burdening his family.

Go to Multi-Menu -> CFN -> Replays -> Search and search by player tag. I'm not sure how long CFN will hold a replay but assuming the matches happened very recently it should pop up. There may be better ways to search for replays of matches that happened a longer time ago but that's the method I used.
Truly incredible that I can watch the replays of any SF6 online tournament match to look at players' exact inputs. I was curious if Dual Kevin was mashing super during burnout to interrupt Marv's string and I was able to see that no, he actually reacted to the (tiny) break in pressure and input the whole thing absurdly fast.
If I ever have to interview a player at an event and I ask them how they're feeling you have my permission to beat me up
Resisting the urge to enter a QRT pissing contest on bird app so I'm chilling here where it's safe
One of the reasons I haven't been playing fighting games very much lately. Snap is way too addicting
