I know bsky has a centralized feed and isn't what I expect when it comes to decentralization (Maybe the future will be different as other developers start stuff up) but damn there are some features like individual feeds that create a media tab type experience like the oc feeds that show only art tagged oc are sooo fun to look at. The feed that only shows photo posts and how feeds are in a convenient spot on the desktop site. I've wanted this! Ever since i found media timeline on misskey!
There is something oddly ironic about people complaining about quote dunking and another person quoting that quote about quote dunking to complain some more about it. the circle of complaining never ends. it's only human. Complaining about complaining about complaining about complaining about complaining... I guess the answer is i gotta go do my work JASNDJNSAJN.
i get needlessly frustrated when i see this same person whose work i admire bagging on ocs. Saying oc lore is a substitute for the"actual thing" which I am not sure what they meant by but they deleted their post so i guess it'd be weird to ASK them... Do they mean writing a story? Oc lore is like story outline is it not? Plenty of oc havers write stories and "roleplay". rp is collaborative story making.
I guess i am now understanding ire against artist's with large followings. I've noticed a increase of starter packs from those with 10s of thousands of followers. i often see the same names over and over again. interesting. it's like how the wealthy get wealthier. the followed get yet more followed. they often only interact with other professionals in their sphere. I get it..hustle culture.. i doubt many artists are wealthy. better to save ire for actual billionaires!!
Artist's i lookup to all seem horribly miserable JNASDJNSA. which is fair. I think some people of that skill level are incredibly snobby which is what made them who they are in the first place.
You know what they say, never meet your idols lol. (and never read their opinion posts.)
i gotta admit seeing fellow artists (an artist i supported as well) in a group i'm in shitting on oc culture is like a punch to the gut esp since the reason i'm in the group is because of my "ocs" but it's fine. They also crap on fandoms and are seemingly happy about tariffs effects on con artists so I guess they're just a hater dspite?? being a respected artist?? idk man. Usually these people are deeply unhappy ...? I gotta admit this is a reoccurring theme.
some ppl are already lamenting that bluesky ain't how it used to be... now that professionals and business fellas of the art/publishing world have come. i haven't rly noticed a diff vibe. But maybe i follow too few ppl to notice. I did see one hiring person say that artists need to pin their work lol. There are also ppl hating on "popular artists" and I ... could never understand this ire.
when i type in the search bar on the app in facebook it takes me directly to an ai chatbot nonsense ...? Like why... i need to find a channel for my mother. I don't need this 10 paragraph essay on the keywords I typed up. there was a link i had to click to search facebook itself which is annoying.
why do my comics do consistently well on twitter but not on any other socmed platform. My illusts on twit get a lukewarm response!! I Can;t Leave I Guess.
People say talk to people on bluesky and your account will grow which I did for quite a while in the beginning and it didn't do much. Starter packs and socializing in discord groups weirdly led to more followers and engagement. (???) Anyway. I hate thinking about followers and getting more because it shouldnt matter and it feels so egotistic but you can't feel like you're a part of a community on socmed unless you do have a certain amount of ppl seeing your posts...?
