Every time I watch A New Hope I am reminded that it is basically perfect
Andor got me to rewatch Rouge One and now A New Hope. I appreciate Rouge One more than the last time I saw it in 2016.
However, the use of music does feel like a pale imitation of the scoring of the older movies. It really stands out when you compare them back to back. Not saying Rouge One's soundtrack was bad, but Williams is a tough act to beat. He's well regarded for a reason.
