This is what I do for a living. Design and build electrical and electronic systems to control miniature chemical plants to test catalysts in a research lab.
I never formally studied philosophy, I have just been an avid reader of it ever since I was introduced to it by Douglas Hofstadter’s brilliant book, “Gödel Escher Bach: The Eternal Golden Braid”. I read it 3 or 4 times from 1979 to 1983, until I was grasping his points. I’m curious what any of you philosophically minded folks think about this book?

I figured I should show my nerd credentials! The kind of #engineering I do involves programmable logic controllers (#PLC) These are specialized industrial computer systems that are rugged, modular, and input/output intensive, handling discrete logic, analog signals and serial communication to field devices such as sensors, actuators and power relays in an industrial environment. There are specialized programming languages used for real time automation. I’m largely self taught
