I've been watching Columbo through the lens of Bosch. I'm realizing that Columbo doesn't have a special intuition for picking killers out of crowd. He just has a special intuition for the face people make when he shows them evidence they didn't expect him to find. Then the look on their face when they think they explained it away. Then the look on their face where puts his hand up and ask another question about it. OH the fun.

So Metallica has released a new single so it's time to listen to people who only listen to one band complain about how only one band releases music,
In a world of Scott Adams, be a Charles Schulz.
I don't think I care enough about Scott Adams to be surprised. I enjoyed his comics for a brief period 20 years ago, but quickly found I didn't like the part of me that identified with his petty mean-spirited humour. His blogging and social media presence did not help.

I still remember when we caught Scott Adams red-handed around 2011 making fake accounts on MetaFilter to pump himself up, acting like he was a fan posting random fawning comments. I sent a link to Nick Denton and he published it all on Gawker, then it came out Scott had more sockpuppet accounts on reddit doing the same thing, arguing in favor of Scott Adams and his brilliance.

He's always been an awful human being.

Album of the day: Nettle "Build a fort set that on fire"

Disappointed that I couldn't find this on Bandcamp nor the full album on youtube. I also failed to find it on Spotify...

I discovered DJ/Rupture by CBC's Brave New Waves. I had ordered this and "Fire Camp Stories" by the end of the broadcast.
