I was feeling a little down today and then I looked at the date and realized it's exactly 16 years since my friend Leslie Harpold died. I still think about her often, miss her, and wish I could hear her voice on the phone again, wise and wisecracking between cigarette drags. RIP.

If you accomplished ~anything~ academically during the pandemic, such as:

β€’ submitted an application
β€’ earned a degree
β€’ passed a class
β€’ did research
β€’ learned something
β€’ taught somebody
β€’ submitted a manuscript
β€’ stuck with it
β€’ changed course
β€’ set healthy boundaries
β€’ figured out what works for you
β€’ helped a colleague

you did it in Very Hard Mode, and I salute you!

If you got your butt kicked, you’re not alone πŸ’œ

Why don't straight women cottage? IDK bro, probably because of the massive rates of violence that women face at the hands of sexual partners, and also probably the constant slut shaming that women face if they do dare to enjoy sex.

Man oh man, @[email protected]'s podcast "Ultra" is worth your time. Episode 7 is *bananas* and horrifically relevant.
