Here are some of my notes around the impact of #AI on human #cognitive load, where it shines, and where it lacks substantial impact:

Where is our current focus on applying AI to optimise our cognitive load? Let’s start with a simplified explanation of cognitive load: Cognitive load refers to the amount of mental effort being used in working memory, or put simply, how much your brain is juggling right now. Since working memory has limited capacity, it is important to ensure it is used on the most value-creating tasks. The three types of cognitive loads are:
Human beings are members of a whole,
All created from the same essence.
When fate brings suffering to one
Other members cannot remain at ease.
If you are indifferent to the suffering of others,
You cannot be worthy of the name “human.”

Wondering how many horses-game is the conversational AI race is? In mobile world it turned out to be two (iOS/Android) and no room for the third (Win Phone).
It’s a shame if it turns out the same here, since it will be OpenAI and Google. And it means the better product (Anthropic) will be out.

The paranoid me is worried if we face a situation where companies tweak the model behaviour to exhibit undesirable behaviour to increase their DAU or other business metrics. Same thing we observe in classic social media world where hatred attracts more audience.
