Good morning. Everybody okay on the CA west coast? Heard there was an earthquake. šŸ‘€
Crap. I think I’m gonna need to switch instances. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

In so many situations, we’re almost conditioned to want to say ā€˜this. This is how you’re supposed to handle this situation’

It’s safe. Comforting. Like, if all else falls apart, I know how to handle this one thing.

Here’s the thing that sucks: those times are limited in life.

ā€˜Sometimes’ accounts for SO much more of our lives than the things we know we can rely on, so that constant change can really try us.

I both adore and LOATHE change, in that it seems just as I’m learning the navigation of something, *bam*.

Change.

ā€˜Sometimes’.

I like that word. It’s very versatile and kinda fits just right, in a lot of situations.

It’s not permanent. Leaves lots of room for option, variety…the unexpected.

I also like it because it’s a good way to convey that things can change.

And they will.

This is a good, smart post by Aaron Rupar about the state of the social networking world in the context of his Twitter suspension https://aaronrupar.substack.com/p/aaron-rupar-twitter-suspension-elon-musk
The upsides (and downsides) of angering one of the world's richest men

Reflections on getting suspended from Twitter.

I don’t know if I’ve explained this here, but I’m a non-binary trans woman.

What’s that mean to me?

My gender expression is definitely that of a trans woman. That feels like home.

And I no longer can say I believe in just a binary system, as I know entirely too many other people that identify differently than two standard genders.

To me, identifying as binary would be a denial of reality.

Now, that’s SURE to make the anti-ā€˜woke’ crowd furious, that’s…just me.

Make sense?

Trans and gender-diverse communities face unique violence that should not be watered down nor generalized to all LGBTQ+ people. - EDIT: To add some nuance here and hopefully clarify a few points, this post is not saying that only trans folks are impacted by anti-trans prejudice and cissexism. That could not be further from the truth. In reality, everyone— regardless of gender— is negatively affected by efforts to enforce cis standards and the gender binary, including (and oftentimes especially) intersex folks, women, gender nonconforming people, and nonbinary people who may or may not also be trans. Instead, the goal of this post is to highlight the importance of naming when policies, beliefs, and actions are driven specifically by cissexism and/ or a hatred of transness and gender diversity. Because so long as we frame the motivations behind these decisions as ā€œanti-LGBT,ā€ we will continue to see cis, gender-conforming LGB individuals centered in how the issues are addressed— almost always at the expense of trans, nonbinary, intersex, and other gender-diverse folks who are the primary targets (and who are suffering the brunt of the violence and victimization as a result). - [IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A rainbow background with a black rectangle in the center. The text in the rectangle says, "Don't say 'LGBT' if what you mean is 'trans.'" At the bottom is small text that says, "@transgender_together." The second slide has the same background with text that says, "Bathroom bills are not anti-LGBT. They are anti-trans. Restrictive I.D. laws are not anti-LGBT. They are anti-trans. Attacks on gender-affirming care are not anti-LGBT. They are anti-trans. Cissexist jokes are not anti-LGBT. They are anti-trans. Sports participation bans are not anti-LGBT. They are anti-trans." The final slide has text that says, "If we fail to recognize and name anti-trans prejudice and cissexism when we encounter them, we will continually fail to change the oppression that gender-diverse people face each day."]"

Lol I got food poisoning from pizza I ordered this afternoon šŸ˜‚

Like, if I don’t laugh about the luck I’ve recently had, I’d just be a bawling mess by now.

Time for water, rest and more rest.

Is this like your thing? You emotionally manipulate people, move into their lives, gain whatever kind of social situation you can from it, tweet out some victim blaming advice, and then move onto the next poor sap?

You realize we have receipts for every single thing, right?
