I think perchance dev should duplicte the comments plugin and build that into a forum, using perchance accounts and usernames, and switch perchance from lemmy to that. recently i managed a new record downvotes on lemmy with a post that involved both ai and meta and portrayed niether of them as terrible. every time it was touched, it went in front of lemmy users for a fresh batch of downvotes. i bet i could have gotten more downvotes if it mentioned trump without saying hes bad. Lemmy is an extremely leftleaning place and maybe thats fine and the type of ppl dev wants anyway. the issue is how lemmy largely hates ai and perchance is on a path to more, and not less ai. I know my post was not the first involving ai to get pushback from the larger lemmy. it happens often. an extreme one was: I recall someone made an account to post supportively of perchance ai image, and on their first post an anti ai lemmy user with no connection to perchance, that i know ive banned elsewhere, responded aggressively at them. https://lemmy.world/post/39295611 [https://lemmy.world/post/39295611] perchance person never posted again. So Perchance gets unapologetically more ai. Shouldnt Perchance discussion, to comfortably talk about its feaures, not be in an ai hate zone? all the parts are basically built already. user accounts, usernames, avatars, comments… especially if vionet is gone, maybe dev should make a real hub with perchance discussion there instead of lemmy? if it were me, i would detour into that after stabilizing the ai plugins and before anything else. idk if community members that code have enough access to perchance user account data to code it. maybe? but it would also be terrible for a community member to do the effort and perchance not implement it. so to me it seems like a solo mission for perchance

looked alot today and theres a clear winner. meta.ai [http://meta.ai] is free, has no daily usage cap, no “credits”, and turns perchance pics into high quality vids better than grok. am i missing anything as free as perchance able to handle any number of images per day?

i made nonpeople as long as i could. making ppl again, im finding hideous monsters are often created, and even the best ppl are almost always too ugly to keep. well at least thats way easier.

dont look at the rest of my site yet lol. enter dateFrom, dateTo, Topic, Preview image, and it gens the post, which can be touched to copy.

dont need login to make event so it can in theory be ported to a perchance page. tho all i made so far is ability to gen the img challenge, which i run anyway, so im fine with it being in my site framework since its part of what i do each month. will test tomorrow if the date created by the datetime js input is format vionet accepts. If so it should all work.

was also thinking while doing this “its hard using a system i didnt make” since im just guessing at options and requirements. maybe should ask @[email protected] whether they find community events important, whether they should stay using lemmy, and general perspective on community events. on my site i will probably make the community events system myself and have them tied to my account system and not use something like lemmy.

and i code on phone so im sure it looks hideous on computer

i see no one really picked them up and it hurt looking at the generators page and seeing it endlessly try to load events. so i just started up the next one. I think what I will do then, is not try and have someone else take over, but dedicate a page of my own site to streamlining the process and maintaining at least the ai image one. That way it won’t be an ordeal for me, won’t be complicated, and won’t dissuade others from trying events either. Sounds like the thing to do. So there is an event up and someone on the other post mentioned there should be more events. I agree, though I only really generate images occasionally, so consider me a noob with everything else. So you’ll have to tell me what we want. I know vionet ran some AICharacterCreation events and i thought those were cool. Generator jams also were a thing, tho few participated, tho that was also before ai code assist. Other options? Tell me what we should have and I will run one and simultaneously add it as an event type my site can make future of in a streamlined, nonlaborintensive way. upon no feedback im thinking a character jam starting probably next week.
