The "designer friendly" Nightingale recap of my work with Cindy Xiong.

We show how well-intentioned, equity-focused dataviz can actually backfire. We find that popular chart choices can trigger unconscious social biases, reinforcing systemic racism. 

This is somehow longer than the actual paper, but we think it's a BIG topic for anyone doing data-advocacy or visualizing data about people.

Any chess mavens out there that can give me another pair of eyes on this viz? I was interested in when the best chess players tend to castle and to which side. So I'm wondering if this viz is clear and accurate (I don't play much chess but am curious about this move!). Thanks!
