Listened to Scott Stephens' (RN) take on the frantic side of Christmas. He adhered that people dashing around, cooking frantically, hosting lavishly are markers of deep attachment and care for our loved ones. I like this in its non-cynical approach to the beautiful season. SS one of our public intellectuals worth listening to.

Witnessed Junior School rousing final assembly of the year today. Carols, old and new, were sung with gusto. The atmosphere resounded with joy. The children displayed such fine respect.Don't you just love teachers and the teaching assistants.
