My first tweet was on October 27, 2011. That's all. Just marking the 14th anniversary of that momentous occasion!

@ewisniowski Here are some facts that you may not know:

1. It is a strategic partnership not a merger. PMI Agile Alliance maintains its own structure, governance and operations.
2. It will maintain its own identity, mission and values.
3. It will maintain its own membership structure and its elected Board.
4. PMI Membership and PMI Agile Alliance Membership will remain separate.
5. PMI Agile Alliance members will still benefit from the resources, events, and connections they already value.

@MayInToronto Your friend isn't necessarily right. Perhaps time will tell a different story than what I see right now. I was part of the board that negotiated the deal. It is not set up to turn into a merger. In fact, that would actually be quite difficult to accomplish.
@MayInToronto It isn't a merger or an acquisition. It is a strategic partnership. Nothing about the Agile Alliance misison has changed AND it is still a separate organization just with a new name and access to a LOT more resources.

We’re excited to share some exciting news with our valued members and the Agile community. The Agile Alliance has signed an agreement to enter a strategic partnership with Project Management Institute (PMI), and today marks the beginning of this new and exciting journey.

@gdinwiddie Isn't that the problem? It doesn't sound bad, yet it happens all the time time.
@gdinwiddie Status quo?
@bitboxer There is nothing in the Agile Manifesto that says you shouldn't have plans. It says you should respond to change over following a plan. That's why most agile conferences have a time for open space. Time to explore the things no one could plan ahead for.
@ponderings The referenced article isn't really recent. It was written back in 2009! But, I don't think my thoughts on this have really changed much.
