I still think there is more good in the world than hate, but money corrupts and the US government has openly encouraged bribery since Citizens United. We need to demand better, and I focus my energy on demanding that from Dems since the GOP is clearly not only going to ignore us but revel in our suffering. Idk, the arc of the universe is long and bends towards justice or whatever, but I think it’s about to get real grim around here so hopefully we all come out of it on the other end.

Upon further reflection I’m not sure I learned any lessons. The Dems seem happier to lose to a fascist than to win with a progressive candidate, but I knew that in 2016. I voted Biden in 2020 for similar reasons (those being “this candidate sucks but the other one is even worse”), but I don’t live in a state where my vote is meaningful at the national level and sometimes I wonder why I agonize so much over it when it’s incredibly unlikely to influence the outcome.

I’m certainly not an astroturfing account lol, I don’t recall ever telling anyone to not vote for Kamala. If we don’t demand more from Dems and vote for them anyway, they’ll keep giving us shit candidates. Those shit candidates are still better than Republicans but that on its own doesn’t make them good or even acceptable. The best time to demand more from your politicians is during election season.

The Dems ran a terrible campaign that ignored the needs and concerns of their own voting base, and I blame them for their loss almost as much as I blame the hateful morons who thought Trump was a better choice. I hope they learned that this is a losing strategy, but again, they did the same thing in 2016 so who knows.

Anyway now we (assuming you’re in the US) are both in the same shit so I look forward to working together until the next time we argue over a milquetoast Dem candidate lol.

Not really, we all saw how the Dems handled and continue to handle things. It’s better than the GOP but far from acceptable. But, again, you are not responding to the point I made a month ago.

Regardless of whatever arguments you have that people should vote Democrat, many of which I would probably agree with, they are not. Whether or not it should be the case is irrelevant, as this most recent election shows that the Dems’ strategy isn’t working. Running a right-wing campaign trying to appeal to “moderate Republicans”, part of which was their approach to Gaza, failed miserably. If they don’t do things differently, they will continue to fail, even if people should understand that they are still the lesser evil.

If I send you an article about a horrific car crash, would you conclude that the majority of drivers are killed in car accidents?
I’m sorry if that was your personal experience, but it is far from the model experience and shouldn’t be used as a basis for how we evaluate medical treatment or medications themselves. Like I said, you have no idea what you’re talking about.
No, you chose the first mental health drug that came to mind, not knowing that SSRIs and benzos are two very different classes of drug. Because, again, you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
Your inability to differentiate between specific drugs, all of which are commonly known, sure makes it seem like you have absolutely no fucking idea what you’re talking about.
And the users of that site will tell you with a straight face that they are “free thinkers” and are immune to propaganda.
It doesn’t work that well, since that’s less than 1% of federal employees.
Bad bait is bad.
