In this lil' dnd'esque headcannon, spider-folk aren't "allowed", and are hunted on sight, so they hide among the common folk in big cloaks - stealing food and supplies. The image of lil' hobbling people with four glowing eyes under their hoods is the main iconography I've got for the spider folk!

Aevs is one such spider-folk, who, in the context of this little headcannon, would be met several times over the course of the story, helping the protagonist in lil' ways here and there.

I'm really glad people seem to be liking Cloaked Aevs, ahh ;;u;;

I'm enjoying the mental image of just being giant, between 50-100 feet tall, smiling gently down at the tinies at my feet. It's difficult for them to gauge my thoughts based on my expression, but I haven't technically hurt anyone or caused too many problems, yet...

The tentative approaches of the tiny folks, gazing down at them with no malice. My hands are politely behind my back as a brave small reaches out to touch one of my gigantic bug-toes - constant glances up at me for some sort of clue, but my little smile never changes. Only my palps have begun to flutter a lil' faster...

Halo-Pano over on Itaku surprised me with this lil' sketch page of Aevs faces. I look so dang cool, he's got such a great handle on how my palps operate, and the cloak here looks SO good, gah!!

FA is still the best gallery site for furries, bar none. It's ancient, and missing a LOT of QoL stuff, but there's zero algorithm, and that's honestly what's keeping it on top as a gallery for me personally.

At the end of the day, I don't really use social media for anything more than scrolling through art and maybe commenting on them. I rarely read text posts, I'm just looking for a nice source of new art from as many artists as I can find. "Drama" and things don't really affect me on social media because I tend to just scroll past all text or meme stuff that isn't art.

Bluesky is fine. I like it right now while it's invite-only and cozy, but there's a few key things still missing and once it opens up and likely introduces more algorithms, I'll probably not stick around.

On the opposite end, I'd say Itaku is my favourite, but it's also the least popular. It's the perfect middle ground between a proper gallery site like FA and scrolling-style social media. I like it a lot. Tons of nice features to it. Really needs better representation for writers though, it's sorely missing from the site and it shows.

Despite it being the least popular of the four sites, it's the one I'm most keen on using, and given the choice, would be my "main."

I'm definitely more ok with Mastodon now, but of the four sites I've been using these days (FA, Bluesky, Itaku, and Masto) it's definitely my least favourite.

It's difficult to search for anything, it's buggy, it's annoying to navigate, it's just a lot of UX problems that keep me from loving it. I'll still keep using it as I figure I'll get more accustomed to it as time goes on, but there's a lot of things that make me roll my eyes and not feel too keen on "maining" this site, so to speak.
