For anyone wondering, I'm still unable to access Twitter until I delete this tweet, which is factual journalism that doesn't even break the location rule Twitter enacted a few days ago. The account isn't marked as suspended anymore, but I can't use it or see tweets from people I follow. Using Mastodon exclusively for now and actually really enjoying it.
The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, CNN and Associated Press have all posted guides to using Mastodon, which in turn have been syndicated by numerous local news outlets. That matters. We're rapidly approaching a situation where the media will refer to things happening "on Mastodon" the way they referred to Twitter in, say, 2013.

Kamoinge is a group of black Photographers who formed in 1963.
Their mission statement: "Honour, document, preserve, & represent the history & culture of the African Diaspora with integrity & respect for humanity through the lens of Black Photographers"
This wonderful work is important to counterbalance the whitewashing of #History by mainly white, middle-class historians/reporters throughout time.
