Users of foundation models can also tap an emerging industry of professional prompters, who craft directions so as to optimise the models’ output. PromptBase is a marketplace where users can buy and sell prompts that produce particularly spiffy results from the large image-based generative models, such as DALLE-2 and Midjourney. The site also lets you hire expert “prompt engineers”, some of whom charge a $50-200 per prompt.

@Cynlas These apps, I’ve always hated them! In China to use cash is really uncommon indeed, so much so that when you use cash, you probably feel like a drug dealer. How long are you staying?

@Cynlas Probably just calling you 帅哥, literally ‘handsome’, a form of address commonly used between strangers—its female counterpart being 美女 ‘pretty’; I personally detest both—basically an informal 先生 (Mr). So they refused to accept cash? That would be illegal (not that that matters much in the PRC).
