@Tattie because we grow up in a gender binary. I’m not saying it should be but it is
@Tattie I think they come to that conclusion because the little hints of femininity were all most men were acceptably allowed to display. So it’s easy to go straight from man to “oh must’ve been a trans woman!”
You’re right though, that is nonbinary ERASURE!! But not something those people are doing because they just ‘tolerate’ nonbinary people, they’re doing it because that is the simplest conclusion. We love our nonbinary pals :)
