I saw that Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (#Comet C/2023 A3) was magnitude +6 and guessed that was very faint but I didn’t expect it to be *that* faint! Luckily we had a compass, and the tail is somewhat visible in peripheral vision (easy to lose it if you’re staring straight at it). But of course it pops right out in the 10 second exposure (Pacifica Beach, next to the Taco Bell).
