How to start? What are the steps? - Lemmy.world

Everyone, hi! You all probably hate this question and I totally get it. However, Everything I find online is confusing. I’m not sure where to start. I have no education in music. I would like to create electronic, drum and bass, and garage music. What do I need to do first? Is it sound synthesis? What are the next steps? In gereral, what are the major steaps to creating a tune? Any tutorials that you think are good, video or written, are welcome. I only use Linux. If you have suggestions for applications, I am listening. Please, help! Thank you in advance.

I am very interested to learn what are few of your top DnB tunes. It could be one, five, more. I think it would be a great way for tune discovery, and in general seeing what old is still holding firmly and what new is shaping the future of DnB. My favorite are the older tunes… - Brown Paper Bag - Roni Size - Basement Track - High Contrast - Snapshots 3 - Roni Size - True Romance - dBridge (DJ Zinc Remix) - Racing Green - High Contrast - Flip Flop - Total Science - Lyric On My Lip - Tali (Marky & XRS Remix) - Drop It Down - Calibre (feat MC Fats) There’s one more, but I have no idea who is the artist. I think the name of the tune is Concrete Jungle. I can listen to this stuff over and over again, and have done so for over 15 years now.

Anyone know if dnb-sets.de sets still available? - Lemmy.world

There used to be a site dnb-sets.de [http://dnb-sets.de]. It now redirects to www.mixcloud.com/future_music_net [http://www.mixcloud.com/future_music_net]. It had hundreds of sets available for download and this is where my favorite sets came from. The Wayback Machine has sporadic archives of the site. However, it seems that none of the sets have been archived. Mixcloud only has a few sets available and I’m not sure why it redirects to Mixcloud in the first place. This is a long shot. I am wondering if anyone knows if these sets are still available somewhere? I have searched all over. Nothing comes up. Thanks!
