If the #SpyroRemake is just a graphics update, I'm not buying it. Aside from the Crash Bandicoot 1 remake, which still isn't that fun to play without nostalgia (I never played CB1 growing up), the Crash remasters didn't do a lot to improve the 2nd and 3rd games. Heck, they made certain aspects worse, like the jump physics in Crash 2 and the jet ski in Crash 3.
Like, I appreciate the fact that they brought Crash back. I appreciate the effort put into the cutscenes and presentation, but I already owned Crash 2 and 3, so if the gameplay is roughly the same or slightly inferior, I might as well have stuck to the original games. Again, I understand that the Crash 1 remaster is superior to the original, but it's not that much more fun to play, presumably not a justification for buying the game again unless you just want to 100% the game.
In other news, this is a big reason I don't want a CTR remake. TwinSanity actually had improvements that could be made to it, including better controls for the slide, fixing the third Aku Aku mask so it actually gives the player invincibility, and of course, the truck-load of cut content. I'd prefer a brand new Crash game (as long as they don't radically change everything about the formula), but CTR is just too tightly knit together to be improved in a significant way.
I ran out of characters and got distracted. What I meant to say was that if Activision was interested in doing another remake, they should do TwinSanity, but if they're just interested in making a new Crash game, then they should just make a new one.
