I really hate heavy wet snow.

@cobra2 It's difficult to spot any accumulation in your photo. Do you think you might get some?

;-)

@gemlog 20-30cm tomorrow.
@cobra2 We get that stuff a lot every year. Sometimes more years than most. A couple of years ago we got 1.8 meters of that crap in less than 48 hours.
And then... it rained on it, just for good measure!
Buildings collapse. Well, here and there, houses, sheds and trailers do anyhow. Always a few.
Our locale has the Canadian record for the most snow in 24 hrs over and over.
There's a place in upstate newyork that gets more I think. sitting on a lakeshore? Michigan, makes more sense.
@cobra2 Actually, that's how it usually works: we get a stupid dump of a meter or so of wet snow and then it rains on it. I've been here a couple of decades and that's the history I'm familiar with.
This year is unusually cold, so we have a lot of longer-lasting accumulation. There's a meter or so in the front yard refusing to melt. 2m+ mounds of the stuff in parking lots. We had a skiff of snow two days ago even. No Spring here yet.

@gemlog 2014-15 was a brutal winter here. The snow banks on the side of my driveway were close to 20' tall.

The snow in the yard covered the windows on the second floor of the 3 level home.

@cobra2 There you go! What area was that?
@gemlog east coast. Nb
@cobra2 Yeah, you guys have been known to get the odd flake of snow now and then :-)
