Here's why posters replacing white actors with black actors appeared in London

The images were created by social justice advocates Legally Black.

@natecull If *you'd* like as go at this, then here's how... https://anticapitalist.party/media/XWe22sfnskgErCVqZSI
@blankideogram @natecull the instructions are unclear as to whether a TX30 or TX40 torx key is used to open up the cabinet, but they can be obtained quite cheaply and are useful for many other things. All these items including 4 way utility key and the hi vis vest are available no questions asked on Amazon as they have many other "legitimate" uses and similar (although maybe smaller) display cabinets are widely used for other purposes than advertising..
@vfrmedia @natecull I thought it was the 40, not sure what the other 2 are for.. printing cheap posters would be my issue.

@blankideogram @natecull also the use of the "security pin" isn't clear (although it suggests "security" in the context of "springing a catch that prevents heavy metal thing crashing down hard on the worker" rather than keeping out unauthorised persons")

I always get the impression that the folk who do this tend to be former employees of the marketing companies who have ways of getting the posters printed cheaply as well as inside knowledge of how to get into the cabinets etc..

@vfrmedia @natecull I'm sure you're right. I got this from the @SpecialPatrols Twitter account.

@blankideogram @natecull many UK news sites are running articles about the kids who produced the posters (they initially only made them for their own use, the SPG lot paid for the rest).

looking closer at the info the "security pin" may be for use instead of sticking a finger into a bit where there could be sharp edges.

I'd suggest anyone attempting this practices opening and closing one first (before altering content) and to remember some of these ads face the road, so watch for traffic!

@vfrmedia @natecull Yeah, interesting. I guess SPG have access to a printer
