I need somewhere to vent my thoughts so I can process this and let it go BUT yo man experiencing your own friends abandoning you is still bothersome as heck.
There's nothing wrong w/ the friendship! It's just that, when you've done so much for them (letting them stay over in your house, offering them help countless times over 6 years, being there through their dark period, treating them for their bdays, etc) which is basically JUST BEING A BASIC NORMAL GOOD FRIEND

I don't expect anything in return by default, but srsly. A token gesture of acknowledgement is enough? To show that you at least care? These two were in the city where I live and knew my birthday is around the corner. Nothing was in their way to stop them from asking if they'd like to meet up for dinner/lunch. But they didn't. And now I know that to them I'm not a good enough friend for them to deserve this simple thing they would have done for each other. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@reimenayee :[ ugh, I hate this kind of situation... like the event itself is not a huge deal? but finding out how others prioritize your life in theirs like this can be very harsh. No advice or anything, just commiserations

@shingworks yepppp it's already the day before my bday and they still havent asked me about it yet LMAO it's petty to think of bdays like this cos I normally dont but it's just confronting?? I guess, to know you don't matter between two ppl you thought were close enough friends. Thanks for the solidarity Der-shing 😭
