Emacs lolz.

"GNU Emacs is an old-school C program emulating a 1980s Symbolics Lisp Machine emulating an old-fashioned Motif-style Xt toolkit emulating a 1970s text terminal emulating a 1960s teletype. Compiling Emacs is a challenge."

@cheesegrits til I learned that I am old enough to have seen some shit
@aparrish yeah, I felt kind of old when I realized I've used all of that tech, starting with actual honest to ghod Teletype 33's, although we didn't have Emacs on those. And they were old tech when I was using them in the early 80's, to generate patches (literally) on paper tape for a military avionics testing rig. Along with a manual hole punch and mylar adhesive for patching the patches.
@cheesegrits Reading about Emacs on Facebook is pretty weird, too.
@wrenpile yeah, it didn't make much sense till the bit where he talked about his time working there on the Android team.
@cheesegrits I did't know any of that! #spacemacs has the shortcut "space + tab" to switch between buffers and I was hooked. 😂
