@RacyRebel Same experience. Maybe the trick is to become an artist/podcaster and shmooze my way into those circles so I can just email/message/call folks and then never have to go on birdsite again.
@muppetWolf I met all of the Radiotopia podcasters by donating to them and then dropping everything to go out to a party they were throwing in Boston.
I met other folks through local (and localish) semi-public parties.
But if you wanna follow your plan, I'm down to collaborate on a podcast/art that will make us hip and popular~
