`pacman -Syu` says I have 400MiB of gifts! Thank you GNU Linux

@jezra

:D
time to receive them over a magical 64 Mb/s connection

want them now, don't you?

I'd settle for a 5Mbps connection http://status.jezra.net/attachment/17144
@jezra @zyabin101 If things get screwed with Spectrum I'll have to go HughesNet.  Building a myth box for ATSC captures via antenna now...

@alpacaherder @jezra @zyabin101 Dang! I was getting 2-3Mbps on #hotel_wifi, but new provider kicked it up to 12-15Mbps. Currently enjoying ~300Mbps at #sonOne's place.

It is imperative that you exhaust all other options before you switch to HughesNet. ALL OTHER OPTIONS!!!!!!
@jezra All I've got options-wise are Spectrum cable, falling down to Windstream DSL, dial-up to SDF.org, and HughesNet. #AmishCountry

Ouch... are there any 'fixed-wireless' ISPs available?
@jezra These guys claim they do but do not talk prices for ZIP code 44004: http://www.metrowireless.com/coverage/

they look like more of an LTE data reseller than a fixed wireless ISP
@jezra Then I don't seem to have a WISP in the area.  Nearest IXP is >100 miles south-southeast if I wanted to make one.

hella bummer. Hopefully HughesNet isn't your only viable option.
@jezra If I fall down to UUCP over dial-up for a while, I will surely be creative plus leveraging apt-offline more.
