@beefasil I'm a big fan of
@djsundog for music and tech and generally thoughtful words
@CaptainUnderpants because he's a good friend, and will eventually start posting pretty pictures from his recent hike.
@mrgah for good conversations and thoughtful opinions
@UberGeek more tech stuff, mostly.
and my new friend @hairylarry has also been a lot of fun. He's a musician and an archivist and a remixer, from what I've gathered.
@beefasil you might want to take a look through the #ff tag, maybe? If you're on a smaller instance, try https://retro.social/tags/ff to see all the ff posts I can see.
(or the same with most other instances to see what they can see.)
@beefasil One other tip for finding like minded folks:
When you post about something you care about, include a relevant hashtag or two. Then other folks posting about the same topic have a better chance of seeing it.
@beefasil Ooh! I remember seeing on your profile that you were a #prowrestling fan.
That's neat!
Regional or national? Do you follow any specific outfits?
When I lived in GA, I went to Robert Gibson's All Pro Championship Wrestling once a month. These days, most of my pro wrestling fix comes from #luchaunderground.
@ajroach42
I should try hitting an InspirePro show in Austin sometime; gotta fix that cash issue first.
Who's your fave in #LU?
@beefasil I'm still back in season two, because I'm watching them as they (slowly) pop back up on torrent sites, but Mil Muertes has been a Lot of fun to watch.
Of course, watching Prince Puma wrestle is always a treat, especially when he goes up against luminaries like Rey Mysterio.
I gotta say, though, my absolute favorite moments have been with Son of Havoc and company. The three way tag match when Angelico flew 30 feet sold me on that team.
@beefasil See, my best pro-wrestling story is a pretty bad one. :-\
I was in Atlanta, at the Georgia Dome, the night #WCW finally did themselves in.
The infamous Finger Poke of Death.
(And that, after a 15+ minute kickboxing match!)
so I got to see some history! But I'm not sure it was history worth seeing.
@ajroach42
Oh, man. Oi. I managed to see a live #WCW show in Atlanta with my ex, way back. First wrestling show I ever attended.
Wasn't that one. ;) Thank goodness.
@beefasil I went to every WCW show they hosted from the time I started watching wrestling.
Caught a highlight reel a few months ago, and got to see some of those matches again.
Of course, we were way up the nosebleeds, but it was fun.
@ajroach42
Same! Really, one of the only strong memories from that night in the nosebleeds was being psyched about Booker T. I don't even remember if he was out there as part of Harlem Heat.
@beefasil I repped the black and white long after that stopped being cool.
I was a huge Harlem Heat fan, too.
I was probably 22 years old before I realized that Booker T and Booker T were different people!
