The First Million

"As of the last hourly update, the greater fediverse has passed 1,000,000 accounts for the first time, with 1,015 active instances" Of course numbers of accounts is not all that interesting, and following the usual 80/20 rule probably only 200,000 have any non-trivial

@bob @Gargron I was a statusnet user early on, and participated in some of the early work around activitystreams...

I drifted away because of IRL - we adopted 3 kids and SH*T GOT CRAZY :) - I was pleasantly surprised to see that an implementation had hit critical mass and I moved to Mastodon shortly after.

I'd be curious if there are any non-Mastodon AP implementations in regular use yet and federating with the Mastodon network. This is really where it begins to validate the ideas to the world.

@sivy @bob @Gargron Friendica and Diaspora, right? Or are they federating via a different protocol?
@Horst @bob @Gargron @deadsuperhero I don't know if Diaspora ever implemented the same protocols or not... Sean?
