The parents of The Kid's dance friends are so different than the parents of her school friends.

The school parents smile at me politely and otherwise ignore me, and when I say something they get kind of wide-eyed, like the sofa just spoke up.

The dance parents chat with each other, and with me, and sort of casually accept my presence. They may very well find me odd, but if so they don't reject me for it.

Sometimes people are OK.

@lizmonster I'm totally experiencing this exact same thing with my preschooler. I've not actually exchanged more than a few words with any of the preschool parents... I actually had a full conversation the first class I took my daughter to last month.

I think in our case it is the time of day - everyone is wanting to go home after preschool/daycare/work and class is Saturday morning at the height of caffeine buzz?
