🙃🙃🙃

@kmbezner When I tell you I feel this in my soul
@MegiddoJones
all the friggin time. and almost always from parents.
@kmbezner This actually happened to me with Saga. I was talking about it with a friend and this woman was like, Oh that book sounds Lovely, I'd like to buy it. When she saw it was a comic she screwed her face and went "Isn't that for children?"

@MegiddoJones
HAHAHAHA.
yeah. go read saga to your 9 year old.

this woman today was looking for something for a middle schooler who reads at a near adult level, but who isn't ready for anything too dark/heavy, and we have a bunch of comics perfect for that, but very few novels that cover that gap

@kmbezner I almost wanted to say Black science or the Unwritten, but some of the arcs in those get super Heavy

@MegiddoJones I was trying to recommend Witch Boy, a lovely sweet coming of age story.

on the plus side, it has sold better than any of my other staff picks

@kmbezner Lol wow,I just realized I need tamer Staff picks. My tamest one might be I hate fairyland.
@MegiddoJones NICE. we're a traditional book store, so our comics selection is relatively small. I like to order and recommend comics whenever I can, but I also feel bad cause if we order a bunch and they don't sell we usually return them ☹
@kmbezner Mine is traditional too but, My boss is pretty open to what he wants to offer. And I usually work to local convention circuit so, it'snot hard to get people to come for comics.
