Don't 👏 doubt 👏 yourself 👏 I'm glad you noticed in time.
I didnt belive in myself enough and took that exact "safe" path. Computer science at a "decent" school. These past 4 college years have been a nightmare to go through while my heart wanted something else, I regret it. If anyone needs assurance, take my case for example!
If you heart really wants it please do not give up, don't doubt!
