Scrolling through random morning toots is certainly better for my mental health than the Angry Bird.
@KameronHurley I can easily foresee visiting Twitter only to scroll through notifications, then coming here for actual conversation. Let's hope Mastodon keeps moving in a positive direction.
@Shecky yeah, I'm burned out on the bird
@Shecky @KameronHurley Agreed, though I'd probably continue to use Angry Bird for updates on current events, unfortunately, at least in the present environment. The good news is I find myself there a lot less often. VERY good for my mental health.
@KameronHurley I'm so glad you're on here! It's already so much more of a positive and welcoming place than twitter ever was. And the interactive instances mean that it doesn't feel like throwing stuff into the void
@KameronHurley I'm trying that this morning too! Thumb hovered over the bird, then went to the pachyderm instead. I'll have to check the news at some point but this is nice.
@janellecshane yeah I try and just check WaPo once a week. Twitter is mostly people reacting to news now, which goes on and on
@KameronHurley I try and get the main stories, figure out what to call my reps about, and then the rest... Is feeling a bit less necessary. I just need to find more scientists here so I get science in my toot feed too.
