I can't decide if the whole instance thing was a good idea.

I mean, on one hand it's great that there's the option for people to be part of select communities. But on the other hand, it makes it harder (I feel) to find new and interesting people that aren't necessarily on the same instance you are.

It also poses as a barrier of entry for newcomers, especially with the whole "Is this the right instance for me?".
