it's always humorous when people imply that without money or capital or jobs, humans would become idle and do nothing and waste away.

let me be real here -- i LOVE working. i love doing shit. i love labor so much. but i fucking HATE when i don't get to have control over my labor, when i have to labor for the sake of preventing my home being taken from me, or my power turned off, or starving.

do you know how much MORE work i would do if it was working out of my own desire instead of capital?

@TRONMAXIMUM There have been studies done and productivity actually INCREASES in skilled labour when the monetary incentive is removed. Like, work is good and useful and empowering and I hate this notion that work and labour are somehow bad things we should avoid.
@TRONMAXIMUM Exactly--i like to equate it to school, because I'm still in high school. Most kids love reading in their free time for their own personal gain, but hate doing it when there's a grade involved.
People will work if there's no negative incentive behind it. I don't understand how people don't understand that
@TRONMAXIMUM I have SOOOO many things I could be working on instead of going to a place of employment. The possibilities are endless! (just need some way to sustain myself in the process).
@TRONMAXIMUM I feel the same way, most of the people I like feel the same way. Seems like the only people who don't are the ones opposed to eliminating capitalism... 🤔
@TRONMAXIMUM frankly, I'd prefer to live in a world where people who genuinely don't want to work are not forced to make things I have to use :)
@TRONMAXIMUM I read in a Dan Ariely book about an experiment where various animals could choose between treats in a bowl or treats that required you to solve a puzzle. The only animals that regularly went the lazy route were cats. Seems like wanting to do things without being required to is natural!
