The Indian Army shot babies, elderly, women, with impunity during Operation Bluestar. They destroyed the Sikh Reference Library, a repository of knowledge that dates back hundreds of years, and stole valuable manuscripts important to the Sikh Faith. This all happened in 1984. This attack would be the reason Indira Gandhi, prime minister of India at the time, who'd ordered the attack to break the Sikh community, would be killed. It was the beginning of years of insurgency in Punjab.
