I just saw someone on twitter proposing the "theory" that Theresa May is on the autism spectrum. Could we stop doing that? Please?

Ascribing mental illness/neurological differences to people you don't know is fucking disgusting, even more so when it's about people you don't like.

I'm not on the spectrum (I'm bipolar) so I can't know how bad that must feel, but seeing people go "Oh Trump is probably Bipolar, that explains everything" makes me wanna bash their faces in bc holy fuck.

Like people can still be absolute monsters while still being "normal" ok? Jesus christ.

Just stop demonizing people with disorders, fucking hell.

@kellarkatt speaking as someone who's Autistic, I'm tired of NTs ascribing Autism to people especially when they dislike the person. I always feel kinda uncomfortable and hurt bc they always gotta say something about Autism that's incorrect.
Just say Theresa May is a fash, that's a much more damning & accurate indictment. They don't need to drag Autism in to it ffs. (Same goes for Tr*mp's 10 year old son that liberals have basically headcanoned as Autistic, it's weird and just. Ugh)

@A_View_So_Cruel What really fucks me up is that some people do it as some weird faux concern? Like they're trying to "humanize" them? And by doing so they remove all their agency, like if X is true they "can't help it" so we shouldn't be mean to them.

I wonder if it's bc people can't imagine someone being that bad (in that case, wake up?) without there being something "wrong with them".

It's so bad and I fucking hate it.
