so, I noticed some push back on someone's post calling for fascists to get punched where a self identified anarchist actually called for reasoning with them. I'd like to share an excerpt from chapter two of George Ciccariello-Maher's "Decolonizing Dialectics" https://anticapitalist.party/media/muqeuepK2xHgZ9l1xUo
there is no 'reasoning' with fascists as fascism is inherently unreasonable and violent. the only appropriate response to facsist mobilization is direct conflict. if you advocate for reasoned debate with fascists, you likely think their positions actually have some sort of legitimacy, which makes you at best a fascist sympathizer, or at worst a literal fascist.
@breadconqueror_ Diversity of tactics in all campaigns. If people want to argue w/ fascists or fellow travelers, no one's stopping them. It's certainly possible to change minds, especially for people around the edges of the movement. Doesn't change the fact that arguing with trolls is usually a losing proposition.
