I also wonder where the 'Trump will nuke us all' meme came from... He's the guy who wants to stop the current cold war with Russia, get out of Syria and doesn't even believe that NATO is necessary anymore...
@lambadalambda "Why don't we use nuclear weapons if we have them?"
@gargron That was a second-hand account from an MSNBC guy, and Trump denied saying it. That's not a lot to go on.
@lambadalambda @Gargron And, as much as I dislike Trump, even if he said it it could be a bad attempt at a joke. There's a known lower bound to Trump's intelligence due to him being smart enough to run some successful businesses. While he's not a politician the concept of mutually assured destruction is something that can also pop up in business (it's the ultimate version of a lose-lose situation) and so I expect him to understand it.
@Verius @lambadalambda None of his businesses were succesful. He had a huge headstart from his daddy, he ruined multiple companies, scammed plenty of business partners and declines to releases his taxes because he's by far not as rich as he pretends to be.

@Gargron @lambadalambda He's certainly not the greatest businessman. But even if he's totally a con artist that means he has to have enough intelligence to pull that off.

I'm not saying he's highly intelligent, just that he has to have an understanding of risk management in order to get where he is right now.

@Verius @lambadalambda I don't know if it's intelligence. It could simply be psychopathy that puts him ahead of the game.

@Gargron @lambadalambda Being a psychopath probably would help a lot. And I wouldn't necessarily call it intelligence. More like cunning, an understanding of perception and possibilities to exploit other people's weaknesses. But in a way things like that could be more important in a nuclear standoff than sheer intelligence.

Of course temper matters too and well...
